Gluten Free living

Marx Bakery is New Zealand’s first Gluten and Wheat Free Bakery. They are solely dedicated to producing a wide variety of gluten, wheat and dairy free products. All bakery products are baked on site.  Open Monday - Saturday 7am - 3pm and closed on Sundays. Orders are taken by phone or fax before 4pm the night before desired purchase date.

A friendly organics store with a good range of everything organic that’s not only edible, but also healthy, such as skincare products and wine. An excellent selection of breads and alternative wheat and yeast free, and gluten free loaves, pastas, cereals and baked goods.

Set in 6 hectares in a peaceful rural area, Te Whau Lodge perches high on a ridge overlooking Putiki Bay in the foreground and across the Waitemata Harbour to Auckland city in the distance - the views are dramatic. The four guest bedrooms have sweeping water views. A passionate cook, Gene takes pride in using the freshest local produce and changing his menus daily to suit the seasons and to cater for individual’s dietary requirements. The Lodge gardens are a source of fresh herbs and many of their seasonal vegetables.

After crossing the gorge, guests reach this large country house set in 20 hectares (50 acres) with expansive rural views. Night views are special with sunsets followed by the city lights and Manukau Harbour under the starry skies. Innovative meals include breakfast in bed if desired, or brunch, alfresco dining and picnics in the fresh country air. The best of seasonal produce is accessible daily, with regional wines and particular dietary needs are Joy’s speciality. Guests have the choice of four bedrooms, plus a bunkroom for children.
