Kingfisher Retreat is a recently constructed luxury bed & breakfast with a Mediterranean influence. For your comfort, all rooms are ensuite and equipped with TV, stereo, alarm clocks and coffee/tea making facilities. The two ground floor rooms (‘Kingfisher’ and ‘West wing’ ) each have a private entrance, whilst the upper floor room has a balcony with sea views. The ‘West wing’ has a 36” TV and private patio area. There are Internet, email and laundry facilities and a Guest fridge. Nestled in Northland’s stunning Bay of Islands and enjoying both sea and rural views, Kingfisher Retreat is ideally located to explore the Bay and beyond. In Kerikeri Township sample the fine restaurants, wineries and savour its coffee house scene. Paihia is close by and we would be pleased to arrange excursions such as swimming with the Dolphins, Hole in the Rock, Cape Reinga or simply cruising the Bay. Waitangi, the birthplace of New Zealand, is a 25-minute drive away. Russell, the old capital of New Zealand, is accessible via the car ferry at Opua or the passenger ferry at Paihia. Full cooked & continental breakfast offered. Those with special dietary requirements will be catered for with prior arrangement.

Original Pacific Rim Cuisine is an Eagles Nest speciality, with an extensive wine cellar featuring the best New Zealand and Australian wines and French Champagnes. They provide gourmet living cuisine for Eagles Nest guests who follow a vegan living foods lifestyle using only organic and locally grown ingredients all dish’s are vegan therefore wheat, dairy and gluten free.

Located at Whangarei Town Basin Marina. Mokaba supplies a range of Gluten Free Baked goods including Orange Cake and Pineapple Cake. They also provide Gluten Free Bread on request, which makes for a yummy Sunday morning breakfast of french toast, or the old Big Breakfast favourite.

Open 7 days as week this cafe is gluten free, as well as selling locally grown product like kumara. All modern conveniences.
