Kaffay can be found at the Nelson Saturday Market in Montgomery Square, and at Motueka Sunday Market, plus fairs and events in the greater Nelson region.
Kaffay makes and sells delicious Sweet and Savoury pancakes that can satisfy most dietary needs: the traditional savoury pancake known as the GALETTE and the sweet pancake, or CRÊPE are large, light and very thin.
The GALETTE originating in Brittany, France, is a large thin pancake made with buckwheat flour, which really compliments savoury toppings and fillings. Equally tasty with sweet toppings, the GALETTE is wheat, gluten, and sugar free with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Our GALETTES are ideal for those with various dietary requirements.
Our CRÊPES are the well-known French style pancake, large and very thin made using our traditional recipe and is the base of many mouth watering sweet toppings and fillings.
Kaffay uses locally grown and manufactured products wherever possible.

Set on two hectares (five acres) of developing land, Mahana Escape features panoramic views overlooking the Tasman Sea. Mahana is Maori for “a warm place to rest”, and provides accommodation with a Mediterranean ambience, comprising three upstairs guestrooms and a downstairs two-bedroom apartment. Gloria serves a full breakfast in the dining room, or alfresco on the deck, and she offers picnic lunch by arrangement. She will also prepare two or three-course dinners, with whitebait a speciality, and Wheat Free or Gluten Free meals can be arranged. Alpacas are a new attraction at Mahana Escape. Guests also enjoy the Abel Tasman National Park nearby, and Gloria offers a luggage-minding service for her guests.
