KB’s Express

KB’s Express are a chain of bakeries in Chch who do the most incredible gluten free pastry: pies, sausage rolls, quiches; along with a range of yummy biscuits, scones, slices: I visited Christchurch over Easter weekend and even had a hot cross bun! All the classics and some extras. And the pastry was flaky! I had to brush pastry flakes off afterwards (but that might have been me inhaling the first real pie I’d eaten in 2 years)!
They do internet bulk orders too - I’m just clearing room in the freezer for a box of mixed sweet and savoury family sized pies - apple, mince and cheese, chicken, etc, etc, etc.
Amazing - I’d pay really good money to get their pastry mix: and I’m trying to talk my chef husband into switching to a bakery franchise owner!

My daughter has been unable to eat cakes since 2008 and at Labour Weekend we found this awesome gluten free shop at Hornby - the Belgium biscuits were devine. She took under 24 hours to eat the packet! We have now sent my sister who lives in Christchurch back to the shop to buy some more and send down to us. Thank you KBS!!
