Purebread ‘Young Buck’ Gluten Free Bread

Review

A delicious light and fluffy loaf for enhanced nutrition and sustained energy. Made from 95% organically grown ingredients, including organic Buckwheat.

Pros

Made in New Zealand and Bio Gro Certified (guaranteed 95% organically grown ingredients used). The main grain used is Buckwheat which is highly nutritious and rich in essential vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates. Tasty and soft! On par with Venerdi’s Six Seed Loaf as far as nutrition goes, but a lot softer texture.
Also with every loaf purchased, Purebread will donate a sachet of organic seeds to an organic education programme.

Cons

Not many as far as Gluten Free bread goes, just wish the loaves were bigger! It is slightly more expensive that other loaves, costing $7.95 for 530gms, but then it’s also organic, which always costs a little more in the pocket. .
It also contains eggs and is produced in a bakehouse where wheat, soy, sesame and peanuts are processed, so beware anyone with severe allergies.

Bottom Line

I really enjoyed eating this bread and will definately buy it again. Great addition to the Gluten Free Bread range.

Ingredients

Organic Buckwheat, Organic Tapioca Starch, Organic Free Range Eggs, Organic Linseed, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Honey, Organic Cider Vinegar, Certified Sea Salt, Xanthan Gum, Filtered Living Water

The purebread young buck is not too bad but the loaf is too small and I don’t like the texture very much.I prefer much better the Venerdi six seeds:it has just been awarded as the best gluten free by the Healthy food Guide magazine (november issue). The best is when the bread is fresh , but it is all right in the freezer as well.
Try the Venerdi Ancient multi grain with buckwheat as well! delicious!
It is a new recipe, the previous name was the boiled whole grain. I find that on their website very good website with lot of infos: http://www.venerdi.co.nz
This bread is very tasty, nutritious and value for money! Furthermore this bread contains less fat that the purebread young buck :3.6g /100g for the venerdi ancient multi grain and 6.1g/100g for the purebread!
more carbonitrate in the venerdi as well !
Try it!

I LOVE this bread. It’s soft like real bread and toasts with a nice crisp mouth feel of real bread that’s been toasted too.  I think I have died and gone to bread heaven!  I can’t believe a gluten free bread could taste this great.  I also like how it is certified organic and that they also use organic buckwheat and Linseed and organic coconut oil and honey! So nutritious!  Nice to know when often a gluten free diet can be deficient in nutrients.  I would definately recommend this bread.  I just wish more stores sold it and that it was a bit cheaper.

I love my Young Buck Bread and buy it in bulk, then I discovered Young Buck Rolls they are even better in fact husband says he prefers them to any other rolls in the supermarket. Lucky him he at least has a choice I have to be GF.
My favourite breakfast is a toasted roll filled with a slice of bacon and a poached egg.
