Homemade Muesli

Yummy nutty flavoured muesli, easy and cheap!


This is all approxamite as cereal is pretty flexible, and you need to work to your own tastes.

Makes heaps with these measurements.

8 C natural rice puffs
8 C natural cornflakes - unsweetened
1 C
- dried apricots
- dried chopped dates
- dried apple pieces
- sultanas

1/2 C dessicated coconut

2 C
- sunflower seeds
- pumpkin seeds
- peanuts
- whole

4 Tbsp crunchy peanut butter
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp cinnamon


Melt peanut butter, honey and cinnamon on a low heat in a pot. Stir constantly as peanut butter is quick to burn.

When melted and combined, put chopped nuts, fruits and coconut in a large bowl and pour over wet mixture. Use a lightly floured (GF) wooden spoon to coat all the nuts and stuff in the wet mixture. It will clump together like little clusters.

Add puffs and cornflakes to the bowl and fold the clusters through the dry stuff. Cereal should remain mostly dry and some should stick to the wet clusters.

Allow to cool and dry then stir again to break up clusters into smaller ones. Store in an airtight container.

NOTE: muesli is even more delish if soaked overnight in yoghurt and OJ/Milk. This softens the cornflakes, but they retain their structure, so not totally mushy.
Add or remove stuff you don’t like. Maybe almonds, macadamias, other dried fruits etc. ENJOY!

Thanks for this! I experimented with it by changing a few of the ingredients and came up with a cereal more delicious than most i’ve ever bought in the past. I’m not good with a lot of dried fruits so i kept that to a minimum and added lots of seeds/nuts etc, substituted the peanut butter with sesame butter - delicious - but i’m going to try the peanut butter tonight.

I love it and will make it over and over again. Much appreciated. Love those clusters!!
