Visitor to NZ soon ›

I’ll be touring NZ with family and friends soon. Is there a directory, here or any other site, of coeliac-friendly restaurants/cafes/bars, preferably backed up by user review? Any pointers would be much appreciated. Paul F from UK

Coeliac friendly GP in Wellington ›

I’ve just recently moved to Wellington and am looking for a GP who has a good working knowledge of Coeliac Disease as the last one I tried (in Nelson) didn’t seem to have any knowledge at all.

If you have anyone your could recommend, I’d really appreciate it.

Gliadin ›

I applaud your efforts re your website concerning becoming gluten free but have you considered the negatives related to gliadin spoken of in Dr William Davis’ book Wheat Belly? According to him going gluten free is only half of the problem.

Emotional ups and downs? ›

My 6yr old daughter is off gluten for a 4 week trial - she doesn’t have celiac but I’m sure she’s gluten intolerant.  We started 4 days ago, and yesterday she looked better than she ever had - she even had colour in her cheeks for the first time in months - even years!  However this morning she was almost depressed.  Didn’t want to leave me, and said that she wanted to cry but she didn’t know why.  She also didn’t feel well this morning despite not eating gluten yesterday, however she did have dairy.

Does anyone know if children experience a ‘down’ once dropping gluten out of their diet for the first time, or do I need to go down the ‘no dairy’ road too?

I’d love some advice - thanks

Gluten/wheat & Fruit/fructose free questions: ›

My son (almost 3) is gluten/wheat, caffeine, fruit/fructose and tomato intolerant via hair testing. He has not had a solid stool since birth and gets various raised rashes. I am all new to this, I have been to countdown today to see what is on offer. Any tips, tried and great recipes for a 3 year old. I have other children with no intolerances it seems so at a bit of a loss where I start with snacks and meals!! Many thanks

recommended nutritionist? ›

Can anyone recommend a nutritionist sympathetic to a low carb/low starch lifestyle?

I’m trying this eating lifestyle as a last resort to treat persistently undiagnosed joint and muscle pain, and I’m wanting professional advice about any vitamins and minerals that I might need to make up for through supplements.
