Gluten Intolerance Symptoms

Asked by LyndaA on 25 November 2011 | Viewed 307 times

Hi - has anyone out there had severe relux/heartburn after eating gluten which lasts for days.  Even the doctors meds aren’t very helpful.  Gavison double strength taken four times daily does offer some temporary relief though.  Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi, I have that problem, and now take Omeprazole (prescription medicine) for it, which has greatly reduced/stopped those symptoms.

Thanks for letting me know what you are taking.  I am on the same medication as you and have found it pretty ineffective.  If I have eaten gluten by accident and get heartburn it will disappear on its own accord after a few days, sometimes it takes up to five days before it goes.  I’m glad you’re finding your medication effective!  Are you diagnosed coeliac?

Hi again, no I’m not coeliac, I have wheat and crustation allergies and am also allergic to non-steroid medications. I also found Gavison to be a great remedy.
