Hi. I have had some really horrible reactions lately after eating bread of any sort. My stomach bloats to wicked proportions, by IBS is extreme, I get a headaches, tired, lethargic after eating bread and starchy foods. Any advise would be greatly received. Im going to give gluten free and go on protein diet and see if this helps. I havent been to the doctors yet just thought it would be good to try things myself first.
Thanks Diane

Hey, you might want to try a ‘blood type’ diet, If you can get hold of the book it’s very interesting. Depending on your blood group certain foods do certain things for different people. Bread does the same thing to me. Obviously for some blood types it gives them tones of energy. Once you know your blood type there is so many ideas of what to eat that do different things for your body. Good luck

Sounds like me too. I also get stomach cramps, vomiting and diahorrea though. Had my gallbladder out in June last year and its really been since then. Finding food I can eat at times is really difficult. This site looks helpful though!

It’s so difficult to find that our body no longer digests certain foods and as there is so much information out there it can be quite daunting to know what to do and where to start.
I have been eating gluten free for over 10 years and it is certainly so much easier now, with such a range of grain alternatives available even when dining out. I too would recommend that you have your doctor test you for any allergies and then you know exactly where to begin with making changes to your diet. I find that stress certainly increases my sensitivity and the use of slippery elm powder helps immensely. Enjoy the wonderful journey your body has taken you on and learn about amazing grains you probably didn’t even know existed. I run a home retreat in Tauranga if you need any further guidance with cooking and eating gluten free.

Hi Diane
You sound like me! I was tested for coeliacs but the test was negative but my doctor told me to go gluten free for 6 weeks to see if it helped. It has helped a bit but I am still not feeling 100%. I definitely feel worse when I eat it.
I am off to a dietician for more advice. Funny thing is both my brother and sister have gone gluten free too becuase the suffer from similiar symptoms and are now feeling better. Just remember once you go gluten free you can’t be tested unless you eat gluten again! I sympathise with you and hope your symptoms go away being gluten free. It is not too hard to do and there are lots of GF products available. Good luck
