Sugar-free, low fat treats
Asked by Aliciah on 29 January 2012 | Viewed 298 times
As a diabetic coeliac, I would like to find a sugar-free/low in sugar, low fat treat that is actually delicious and sweet enough to satisfy cravings for chocolate/caramel/baked goods, that I can consume without significantly compromising my health. Does anyone have any product recommendations?

Hi, Sweet William does a range of chocolate and sweets which cater for almost every allergy. I’ve seen them at my local health shop (Health 2000) and at Countdown. They have a no added sugar range and use Maltitol (a corn starch sweetner) or Stevia instead.

Hi, beware the trap of aspartame (diet coke etc) which is made of GMO bacteria feces - no kidding! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wuol172fs-E its a health hazard. Safe alternatives to sugar are stevia, maple syrup and honey. I have been sugar free for a year now (as I was reacting to it)I use maple syrup to flavour my smoothies and I love it. It is also anti-inflamitory.
