Are the fresh and fruity and meadowfresh yoghurt range gluten free?

My Husband has had a gluten attack after eating Fresh and Fruity Yoghurt. It looks like the thickener can be derived from wheat.

I’ve just checked my pot of fresh and fruity - its the lite range (I’m not the GF person in our house so all good) but it has got thickner 1440 which is considered to have gluten in it. According to the info I’ve seen, that is the only one to look out for. In saying that, whether its an intolerance or diagnosed illness such as celiacs, I think everyone has their own threshold, which is why some people can eat stuff and others can’t handle it. Along with being GF, my son is suppose to be completely milk/dairy free but he can handle little bits of dairy like some colourings. So its just a matter of experimenting to find what your limitations are.

I’ve once again pulled out my fresh n fruity pot as I was so sure of what I had read, and it definitely does contain thickner 1440. As mentioned though in my earlier comment, I eat the lite range. So figuring this wasn’t making a lot of sense, went onto fresh n fruity’s website and yes all the lite range flavours do contain thickner 1440. But none of the other range of fresh n fruity yoghurt products do. So think that explains the difference of opinions on this and in answer to the original question, just stay away from the fresh n fruity lite yoghurt range - and always check the labels.

Hi there. In answer to your question, try this website as it is excellent at detailing what food is gluten free, dairy free etc. Go to www.mfd.co.nz and then go shopping and eating with confidence! Good luck.
